Production Flow
A typical pet bed production line follows these stages:
1. Material Preparation
Raw fabrics arrive in rolls and are inspected for defects, color consistency, and weight. Foam blocks are cut to specified dimensions using CNC cutting machines or hot wire cutters. PP cotton is prepared in pre-weighed portions for consistent filling.
2. Cutting
Fabric is spread in multiple layers on a cutting table and cut using automated cutting machines or manual die cutters. A well-equipped factory uses CAD-driven cutting to minimize fabric waste (typically achieving 85-92% material utilization).
3. Sewing
The most labor-intensive stage. Industrial sewing machines join fabric panels, insert zippers, and attach labels. A single pet bed requires 15-30 minutes of sewing time depending on complexity. Look for consistent stitch density (4-5 stitches per cm for durability) and reinforced stress points.
4. Filling & Assembly
Beds are filled with the specified material — PP cotton by hand, foam inserts placed precisely, or memory foam topped with fiber fill. Consistent fill weight is critical for product uniformity. Good factories weigh each fill portion.
5. Quality Control
Every bed should pass through a QC checkpoint before packaging. Inspection covers: dimensions, fill weight, zipper function, label placement, stitch quality, and overall appearance. Factories meeting international standards perform AQL sampling (typically AQL 2.5 for major defects).
6. Packaging
Beds are compressed (vacuum-packed for shipping efficiency), placed in poly bags or boxes, labeled with SKU barcodes, and packed into master cartons. Amazon FBA sellers need specific FNSKU labeling and carton dimensions.
